Save the African Rhino

Master Instruments is proud to support the Save the African Rhino Foundation.

We recently donated a quantity of rechargeable batteries to assist this great charity organisation.

Save the African Rhino Foundation started in 1987 and is one of the leading supporters of Rhino conservation in Zimbabwe. Since this organisation was formed 25 years ago, rhino populations across Africa have recovered greatly through the implementation of the right management strategies.

In 1972 there were 65,000 black rhinos roaming the plains of Africa; in 1993, the numbers were down to 2,300, but with good management and international interest, they have now built up to about 4,900 – a 93% decline in 40 years.

The SAVE African Rhino Foundation has donated more than $4.2 million worth of field equipment, including 16 four wheel drive vehicles, 30 motor bikes, 15 outboard motors, 10 reconditioned engines and gearboxes, numerous sets of radios and tons of spare parts for all of the above.
