Sanyo Divests NiMH & Lithium Plants

As of the 12th January 2010, the business alliance between Sanyo and Panasonic Corporation was completed. Part of this was to divest the Nickel Metal-Hydride (except in Automobile application) and Lithium battery business to FDK Corporation (a subsidiary of Fujitsu).

As a result, FDK Corporation has acquired the Sanyo NiMH and Lithium plants, including staff and processes, and will continue to produce the same level of quality batteries that have kept Sanyo at the top of the battery industry.

The brand Sanyo, for the above ranges will change to FDK. This will be a rolling change as Sanyo branded stock sells out. The Eneloop brand remains with Sanyo.

For further informations, please checkout the FDK website or read the Press release.
